T’ai Chi Chih (pronounced Tie Chee Chuh) is a moving meditation based on "Chi" theory, which is the root of traditional Chinese/Japanese medical science, particularly acupuncture. Non-impact and non-martial arts in nature, the 19 gentle, easy-to-learn movements in this form brings a variety of health benefits: improved circulation, digestion/elimination, development of deep relaxed breathing patterns, natural postural alignment, increased energy; relaxation, reduction of stress, and clear mental focus to name a few. Regular practice creates a calm oasis of inner strength, restoring balance to our lives so we can enjoy a more peaceful and joyous existence.
Class Description:
Almost anyone can learn the 19 gentle movements of T’ai Chi Chih, which balance the body’s energy (chi) and promotes improved balance and flexibility. Regular practice brings far-reaching benefits. Participants will be introduced to the basic principals and learn the entire form in eight weekly 1-1/2 hour long sessions. Dress comfortably and wear flat-soled shoes (no special clothing or equipment required).

One student wrote, "Each week as we learned new movements, I could feel the life force increase its movement through my entire body. Not only did the movements diminish my pain for the day, but also my energy level increased greatly. My mornings are now a time I look forward to. It is such a peaceful, joyful way to celebrate the start of a brand new day and a brand new way of life for me. I am truly thankful for T’ai Chi Chih.”
Another student commented, “Had minimal expectations and depart satisfied that a new dimension of life has opened to me, kind of a spiritual awakening through T’ai Chi Chih.”
